History of Premier Shades Central Coast Blinds and Awnings

Premier Shades Awnings & Blinds is a local family business which started on the Central Coast in the early 1990's by Bill & Kerrie Webb, who later retired.  The business started on Manns Road,  West Gosford, and in 2015 moved to larger premises in Wyoming.

Jim and Sharon Tieman have been in business on the Central Coast for over 20 years.  Over the years, they have won many awards in business for excellence in their chosen fields.  In 2010, the Tieman's purchased the business and went through intensive training from suppliers, and key industry people and were committed to bringing the latest in fashion and design to the Central Coast blind industry.

Premier Shades Awnings & Blinds is a Blind Manufacturers Association of Australia member serving the Central Coast since 2010

Premier Shades is a completely independent family owned business. It is not part of a franchise or a multi-national company. It is owned by a local family (The Tiemans) and employ local people to manufacture, consult, install and for office administration.

Premier Shades has an extensive showroom and blind manufacturing factory located at Unit 18/482 Pacific Highway, Wyoming.  Many of the blinds, plantation shutters and awnings they sell are on display and operational.

Premier Shades, Awnings & Blinds is the only Central Coast Blind and window furnishing manufacturer to be a member of the BMAA - "Blind Manufacturers Association of Australia". As well as employing key staff members who have been in the industry for many years, membership also means Premier Shades, Awnings & Blinds adhere to the correct industry standards for safety, professionalism and corporate ethics.  Sharon Tieman regularly attends BMAA and has been invited to participate in industry forums of up to 8 industry leaders from around Australia where they discuss trending ideas and government regulations.

Premier Shades, Awnings & Blinds is one of only a handful of "SAS" dealers -  Somfy Automation Specialists and were awarded as a GOLD LICENSED DEALER in 2014, the first on the Central Coast.  Somfy is the worlds largest blind automation (motorisation) company and key personnel within Premier Shades have attended "Somfy School".  This was an intensive training programme to learn about motorisation of blinds and awnings, as well as connecting blinds to CBUS, and other home automation programmes.  Premier Shades works closely with specialised "Somfy Electrical Service" to install their motorised blinds and extend their clients motorised blind warranty. They have many motorized blinds and awnings on display in their showroom at Wyoming.

Premier Shades is member of the Fashionline (Blind Industry Professionals) buying group.  This is an independent group of blind industry retailers & manufacturers that meet once a quarter and discuss the latest trends in blind industry fashion, as well as the latest blind manufacturing technology and blind safety standards. Sharon Tieman has held a board position with Fashionline from 2013 to 2015.
