Motorised folding arm awning can be fitted with sun and wind sensors, where the awning automatically adjusts and can bring itself out or in depending on the weather.

A folding arm retractable awning can be motorized and controlled by remote, or hard wired into your home or Cbus system.

Can be mounted to a wall, a pergola, high next to the guttering, or under the eave of your home.

A folding arm retractable awning can have widths of up to 10 metres wide and up to 4 metres projection.

What fabric can I have?

The Premier Shades Folding Arm Awning range is a custom-made range. It will be made to your exact measurements to suit your home with YOUR choice of fabric and frame colour. At Premier Shades we have a huge range of fabrics to choose from. Fabric Swatches that suit Folding Arm Awnings are available to view in our showroom or in your home. Do you have waterproof fabric?

We have a huge range of 100% solution dyed acrylic fabric which are water, mildew and rot resistant. Gentle rain with bead and roll off the fabric.

We also have the premium range of Nautica fabric which are waterproof. The fabric we use; for example, Docril are coated with Dupont Teflon and have exceptional resistance to water, high temperatures, chemical reaction, corrosion and stress cracking.

How wide can a Folding Arm awning go?

Maximum width of 7000mm (7 metres) and a minimum of 2080 (2.08m)

Projection is a maximum of 4000mm (4 metres) and a minimum of 1500mm (1.5m)

It is possible to butt two Folding Arm Awnings together to get wider coverage.

The longer the projection and the pitch, the more it may drop at the front. When Premier Shades do an onsite measure and quote, we will look at fixing points and consult with you on the best solution.

Can I motorise a Folding Arm Awning?

Definitely. Premier Shades are Gold Licensed Somfy Motorisation expert, based on the Central Coast. We specialise in the world leading Somfy motor system. This system can be automated via your smart phone and Wi-Fi devises. We can organise the Somfy Electrical Services to connect power to your folding arm awning (fees apply) which will extend your Somfy motor warranty from 5 to 7 years. Alternatively you can use your own electrician.

How does it go in the wind?

Premier Shades Folding Arm Awnings are predominately used for Sun protection on the Central Coast. They are not designed for strong wind of greater than 50km an hour. If you are concerned about the wind in your area, consider getting one of our Somfy sensors. A motion sensor will detect when the wind is too extreme and automatically retract a motorised folding arm awning away in its cradle.

How do I clean?

To clean a folding arm awning on the Central Coast you need to remove sea salt, dust, bird poo and ingrained dirt from the fabrics and components with a gentle hosing. Doing this every 3-6 month will extend the life of the look and product. Never use soap, bleach, solvents or cleaning fluids as they may damage the coating on the fabric. It is best to clean on a sunny day as its important to never roll the fabric away wet.
